Metal and Lace Music, part two
Tue, December 2, 2008 at 7:47AM I love the taste of this technique. I've dug through my remaining boxes of fabric and found numerous suitable bases. I'm making jewellry, wearable art, wall and window pieces. Each type of fabric reacts differently with the addition of stitch and metal----the knits stretch out and hang like skin, the synthetic sheers fold at angles upon themselves, the tulles and lace crunch or flow depending on placement and density. Small pieces are of course more rigid, but the form can be shaped because of the metals.
Just a taste above. The earrings are 2 3/4" long, light as a feather and got LOTS of rave reviews when i wore them to the flower mines.
There she goes again, with the HAWT technique of the week.........pshaw....i have decided to embrace the OCD/ADD side of my personailty. It's there and it won't go away so i might as well utilize it. Maybe i will be focused on something else next week, but for now, it's metal and "lace".
.......the penchant for study, reflection, application and hard work is often propelled by obsession. While obsessive behavior may be an antisocial plague to societies and communities at large, it's total moxie when lone practitioners catch it. OOOOOOOOO i can't wait to show you what i've been doing today!!! I can only show you a wee bit as it's part of a larger piece that i can't unveil until it's where it's supposed to be! Stay tuned!
