MAY/08 oh geeeeeeeezzzzz i am SO in love again
Wed, May 14, 2008 at 12:43PM I finally broke down and bought a copy of Beryl Taylor's Mixed Media Explorations-----------i'm passionate about my interests, but this book is so fabulous, with clear instructions, juicy juicy luscious juicy photos and a generous sharing of techniques that i think i wet myself.......![]()
WAAAAA--- i wanted to show you what MaryAnne "studio warmed" me with, but i lost the picture and everything is in it's proper place now for use--she sent fabrics, beads, gewgaws and jimidydaws, buttons, trims, lace, beaded trim, decorated lace, wonderful atcs, assorted parts and bits and a fabulous denim carry totebag that everyone wants to steal from me. I am a luckies!
My MIL is now positive that i am insane: today in the mail i recieved a big "Box O' Rusty Bits" courtesy of Kirsten Chursinoff in Vancouver. I shrieked when i opened it--- MIL thought someone was being mean to me by sending "that nasty stuff" and that i had cut myself---it came at the right time as i had run out of little bits and haven't been able to get to the junkyard to scrounge more. (Greyman won't let me bring home car sized things to smash apart because "we have no more room"---ha.)
I received an email from a concerned Andrea, who thought maybe her printing a copy of my Fabric Paper tute had lead to my castigating "whomever" about downloading (i meant actual photos from my gallery, including my resume--what's anyone else gonna do with that though???)----all the tutes in that section are there to print to your heart's content! At the bottom of each entry, you'll find a "printer friendly" button that will remove all the extraneous web page content, so you can have the meat without the gristle :}

As for MIL? Assimilate her. Hand her rusty bits and some 'whatever' supplies and let her create too. Who knows, she might just learn to love it
