About

I am a Canadian mixed media artist, working primarily with textiles. I'm curious, eccentric and just a little opinionated.

ruffled capris done!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to wear these! Now i have to find/make a blouse to go with them though :} There are wrinkles in the photo, needs final pressing---and the right side (facing you ) pocket does not have a line through it: it's actually a smaller pocket inside and peeking out of the larger bottom pocket.

Good post today too--got this from Nellie as a thank you for the Exquiiste Corpse:

Sometimes the gifts are wrapped SO perfectly, it's hard to open them! I love the way she tied the roving on as an extra little treat! And inside, luscious atc and buttons and squiggly spiral metal bits. Thank you Nellie!!!!

Next on my list of wearable art to creat from, inspiration wise, is this:

Also from the Jan/Feb/08 issue of Belle Armoire, this is by Erin Mahoney I like the tucks treatment, the outer facing and the tiny sequins scattered. Mine will have cap sleeves, an outside neck facing and cuffs on the little sleeves, a bit of beading and for the fabrics, i'm thinking of a sheer white with a tiny but widely spaced floral pattern tucked and stitched over a solid purple shell. This colourway shown is one of my favourites but i want something more summery.

HMMM, do you suppose i am committing Intellectual Property theft with these????????

What a cool post! The colours of everything are lighting up my computer monitor...so pretty. I hope there will be a picture forthcoming of you modelling your new capris?

Love the capris, adorable and a great color combination. Now we need a pic of you wearing them!
I thought that roving on top of the package from Nellie was a fur ruff or something!

Love the capris! Do we get a shot with them modeled on you? I'd love to see them with the top you choose.

Funky capris!
Glad you like the goodies I sent. They are much deserved by you ... not only for the creativeness you added to my Exquisite Corpse piece, but for keeping all of us going and on track. Thank you.
Did you recognize your hand-painted red fabric in the ATC? That's all that was leftover from "Come With Me to the Kasbah". The wire spirals are paper clips and what was used to embellish the previously mentioned piece.
