About

I am a Canadian mixed media artist, working primarily with textiles. I'm curious, eccentric and just a little opinionated.

Hugh's Legacy

Third of a series, Rust Never Sleeps. My Grandfather worked all of his life in a steel mill; all i remember about him is dark colours, the smell of hot metal and smoke, and a big laugh. I found the rusted bits at a junkyard; the pivoting piece is from an old gasket housing. This is "Hugh's Legacy" (all clickable)

Love it! My father worked in the steelworks also so I know what you mean about that metallic smell. Mind you, we kids, used to fight over his smoky smelling sandwiches if he had any lunch leftovers.

So amazing and highly evocative, no wonder you want to keep it. Try not to do something so dazzlingly gorgeous for your swap! (as if)
