MAY/08 experimentation practices
Tue, May 6, 2008 at 08:01AM I had the most gorgeous piece of cloth painted yesterday in grey, chocolate and silver with accents of fire engine red; wish i'd taken a photo. I had planned on using it for another rust themed piece. Moot point now---WHERE does the colour go if you don't add textile medium to the paint???????????? It didn't drip on the floor, it didn't stain anything underneath, it didn't transfer anywhere that can be seen. Molecules of it must now be floating through the house; i have strange little visions of cats appearing with dots and dashes of the missing colours, or MIL's hair suddenly becoming another hue......
Note to self--even when experimenting with things not meant to stay on cloth, perhaps a judicious shot of Golden would help? It's not a waste and it doesn't take a lot........live and learn!
Angie Hughes All i can say is
WOW..................
These put me in mind of the pet rock nonsense of many years ago: the-book-as-object
For 95 bucks, i could get a lot more (in quality and quantity) blank journals than these.....for the same people i guess who buy $120 sweaters for a three week old baby just because it says Burberry. The sweater, i mean, not the baby. If my baby said Burberry, i'd think it was just gas.

AND...I know where your colours went. They've joined a whole bunch of my emails and are contributing to plugging the hole in the ozone layer.
THAT explains last nights strange sunset with the red and clouds that had text.... :}
I want to run away to England and live in a cottage where I can paint and sew all day long when I get back from driving around taking fabulous workshops from the likes of Maggie Grey and Angie Hughes. It's always fun to discover others who like your heroes/heroines too!
