thursday....

Today is my first at my new place of employment........the shop is beautiful, and the people so nice, i'm looking forward to it!

I've been finding more and more Canadian artists and bloggers on line in the last 2 weeks than ever before--or rather i've found the ones with the same or similar interests and talents----it's not important where these people are, except in the sense that it's more likely that i could meet them. I envy some of the other countries where everyone sees each other in RealTime. I value everyone i've met "here", but there's something special about realizing an artist is "local"!!! I'll be slowly adding links so you can "meet" them! 

Yesterday, i found this site: Joanne MacDonald, a Calgary based metal artist. I particularly like her round pieces and some of the panels! She learned her welding skills at SAIT---and now i am eyeballing School again!

Of course, there is also the Jeff DeBoer, who was a friend of a dear friend. (I'm not above name dropping, though i doubt he remembers me :}) Also based in Calgary, Jeff is stunningly talented in metal work/art.

Lesley Turner and Donna Clement---i hope to meet them!!! Both in Calgary too---and their art is incredible and exhibited widely.

My next few days are filled with Werk, so i won't be in my "studio" to Work. Now where did i pack my (semi) good clothes????
