About

I am a Canadian artist in Calgary, Alberta, working primarily with textiles. I'm curious, eccentric and just a little opinionated. Surrealist in thought, Fauvist at heart, this is my almost daily art journal, eccentric and eclectic, explorative and absurd.

Thank you to ATASDA!!!!!!!!

This came in the mail yesterday:

Why am i so excited? Well, not only is it SCRUMPTIOUSLY full of articles and photos (although alas only the front and back covers are in colour), but my "Fabric Paper" tutorial was published in it!

For some reason, though it was in black and white, when i scanned it, the corruscation of the ink provided almost the original colours of the piece! Wierd bonus :}

They also invited me to join, as they do have international members and as tempting as the offer is, i have to regretfully decline--Australia is just to far away to justify the expense. How i wish i could go for a visit though!!!!! ATASDA

I found your tutorial for fabric paper on the internet perhaps about two or three years ago, and have used it happily! Good for you it is now published in the magazine, and good for its readers, as well. Congrats.

Congrats to you, my friend! One of these days, I intend to try your version of fabric paper. I already do my own version, but it's not quite as elaborate. Or as messy! LOL! I guess I need to climb out of the box, and try something else (like, that has ever been a problem for me). - Anne Marie - Toronto

Yes, Australia is so far away - but SO_O_O_O_ worth the trip. After all, I'm here! Plus I have 2 spare bedrooms, but you might not feel so comfortable in the one with the Winnie the Pooh that I painted on the wall!

I don't know how I missed this! Congrats, Arlee. You are always so generous with all your processes (hand and thought), so I am not the least bit surprised!
