About

I am a Canadian artist in Calgary, Alberta, working primarily with textiles. I'm curious, eccentric and just a little opinionated. Surrealist in thought, Fauvist at heart, this is my almost daily art journal, eccentric and eclectic, explorative and absurd.

Over the next few months, i will be moving my blog in entirety to my new space. Please stay tuned for the final shifting, sometime in July of 2010. FyberSpace Shop Slow Cloth on Facebook

doing better than i thought!!!!!!!!

Doing all this intense stitching has made me myopic in more senses than sight! I lost perspective for awhile working a section at a time. This afternoon i stretched it out upside down and realized, i am probably HALF DONE with the hand work! Since my last post about this, i added another ten hours of stitching to it.

I love the back for different reasons and the snarls and twangles, knots and bumps all:

And Greyman found my cell phone! He did an intense ground search around the area i had dropped it, not an easy feat since i only noticed the building that was close by, not a street name. It has a big new scratch on it, but otherwise is fine!

:-) greyman is really the perfect man for you. Do you think many "other significant" would have gone to search the phone? That must be love.

Greyman is a gem (but we already know that!). It's a wonder that someone didn't make off with it.
Sometimes I'm more intrigued with the back of a piece than I am with the front. Isn't it human nature to want to pick everything up and look at the back? Many moons ago, when I was taking folk art classes, I remember the teacher telling us that we should always put something on the back/bottom of a piece so that people that were curious would have something to look at. In this case, I LIKE the snarls and burbles on your piece.
