circling

"The circle is perhaps the purest, most profound and the most common symbol in existence. With the probably infinite billions of stars, planets, moons and galaxies full of the same, the circle is well represented in the physical universe in the form of spheres. A circle, having no beginning or end, represents infinity, eternity, wholeness and femininity. Other meaningfully significant symbols or objects are circular: Stonehenge, Ouroboros, the Wheel of Life, a halo around the head of a saint, etc. In a very practical way, it can be said that circles rule the world. For example: wheels, gears, computer hard drives, CDs."
Who knew my exploration into this shape would lead back to my Hoodoos???
Some of the pieces i'm using may not be "true" circles, but they are representative of the shape, feeling, and symbolism. Worked in the round literally, they represent for me the female, creation, eternity, the un-ending, the natural pattern that repeats upon itself.

After this post I thought I should introduce you to some other circles from UK.
You probably have better in Canada but these fascinate me.

Jackie--great link resource, thank you! Canada's rock carvings and petroglyphs tend more to animals and figures, so it's wonderful to see the UK and European ones.
I really like it!
Cheers, Denise
Denise, no offense taken----you are right in a way, at first i didn't think i could integrate the two different colourways, but it does seem to work if i continue the flow with the attaching beadwork.
