About

I am a Canadian artist in Calgary, Alberta, working primarily with textiles. I'm curious, eccentric and just a little opinionated. Surrealist in thought, Fauvist at heart, this is my almost daily art journal, eccentric and eclectic, explorative and absurd.

...faces come out of the rain....

Or the fabric when you least expect it!

The circle samples had me pull this out to work on again, one of my female Hoodoo figures. As i was resting the hoofies after stitching more lumpy circles on, i noticed something peculiar about the striations of dye on the main fabric:

She has a face!

This has made me rethink the final piece, and i will be leaving some areas "blank", but use some handstitch on the base fabric. (Why did i use this anyways if i was going to cover the whole thing up? Wasteful!)
